The new building right next to Bad Homburg railway station is a modern cinema with seven screens. The new high-tech cinema on Baseler Strasse offers 25,500m² of space for around 950 film fans at the same time. All cinema screens are equipped with particularly spacious and comfortable premium seats and the state-of-the-art Dolby ATMOS sound system. Some of the auditoriums also have D-Box motion seats that move in sync with the film action, guaranteeing a particularly impressive cinema experience. What sustainability initiatives does the venue implement?
The use of reusable glass bottles and reusable cups in the confectionery counter area significantly reduces the amount of waste in KINOPOLIS cinemas. Since July 2021, all KINOPOLIS cinemas have only offered reusable glass bottles.
In addition, KINOPOLIS has been offering soft drinks exclusively in reusable cups in all 17 cinemas since November 2021. These are made of one hundred per cent reusable polypropylene (PP), are dishwasher-safe and BPA-free*. By switching to reusable cups, the amount of waste has been reduced by 65 tonnes of disposable cups and a further five tonnes of packaging waste.
No cinema without popcorn! Our popcorn and secondary packaging is made exclusively from recycled paper from certified sustainable forestry. Guaranteed without loss of flavour!
Of course, we have long since replaced plastic straws with drinking straws made from natural fibres. These are not only naturally grown and biodegradable, but also retain their shape for a long time and are tasteless.
We have a long way to go - so we are all the more pleased that our cinema guests are willing to join us on this journey to make the cinema experience more sustainable together.
We support electromobility! Electric vehicles are more efficient, quieter and locally emission-free. On our homepage, we offer our guests an overview of possible e-charging stations that are located near our cinemas.
All KINOPOLIS print products are produced in a climate-neutral way. Nevertheless, we pay attention to further savings potential in order to avoid unnecessary production of waste paper.
Since June 2021, all KINOPOLIS cinemas have been powered exclusively by green electricity**. The electricity is generated 100% ecologically from renewable energy sources such as sun, wind and water. No greenhouse gases such as CO2 are produced and generation does not contribute to global warming.
