You will find us, the Schildkröte restaurant, in the immediate vicinity of Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg.
Since the opening in 1936 by the first owner Mrs Lotti, we have established ourselves as a cult restaurant in Berlin.
We offer our guests a culinary journey through original Berlin recipes, such as the currywurscht, and of course we offer many other delicacies of home-style German cuisine.
As a veteran of the Kudamm, we see ourselves as ambassadors of Berlin cosiness and hospitality and are proud of our regular guests from all over the world. The "Schildkröte" has only had a few owners in its 70-year history and has established itself as a popular meeting place in West Berlin. Harald Juhnke was one of the countless regulars at the time, regularly stopping off at the "Schildkröte" for a bite to eat before a performance.
