WELCOME to the BAMBERGER HAUS
In 1912, the Munich architect Franz Rank erected a simple two-storey building in a prominent location near the newly created Luitpoldpark. The baroque sandstone sculpture of the Böttingerhaus in Bamberg (also known as the “Prell-Haus”), which was built in what was then Judengasse 14 (now Judenstraße) in 1707-1713, was integrated into the façade. Shortly after 1900, these parts of the façade came into the possession of Rank, who transferred them to Munich. On the occasion of the 90th birthday of Prince Regent Luitpold, Rank donated the building to the royal capital and residential city of Munich, which still owns it today. Destroyed in the Second World War, the Bamberg House was completely rebuilt in 1983. After a complete renovation, the Bamberger Haus was reopened in 2015 with a refreshingly new yet time-honored charm! Today, the listed property houses a restaurant, a beer garden for summer and winter, impressive rooms and a spacious outdoor area with a sun terrace. Since June 2020, our light-flooded Ludwig's Salettl, another room in our garden, has also been shining in all its glory.
Since the end of 2019, the restaurant's culinary concept has been imperial and royal court cuisine with a modern twist. Our guests rave about the “best schnitzel in town”, along with other classics of old Viennese cuisine. Let yourself be captivated by the natural charm of this Bamberg establishment and join us, a team that puts its heart and soul into serving you, on a nostalgic journey of senses and palate through a very special gastronomic concept.
